- Do not centrifuge Yellow-top ACD tubes. Maintain whole blood in ACD tubes refrigerated (2-8°C or 36-46°F) prior to transport.
Preparation for Courier Transport
Transport: 30 mL whole blood from the mother and the father in ACD Solution A tubes, and 10 mL serum from the mother, refrigerated (2-8°C or 36-46°F). (Minimum: 20 mL whole blood from both the mother and the father, and 3 mL serum.)
Rejection Criteria
- Specimens received without prior Laboratory notification and review.
- Specimens not received by referral laboratory within 4 days of collection.
- Specimens not collected and processed as indicated.
In-Lab Processing
