Laboratory
Sent to Viracor/Eurofin Lab Lenexa, KS.
Performed
Monday – Saturday.
Results available in 1-2 days.
Reference Range
By report.
Test Methodology
One Stage Immunoenzymatic Sandwich Microplate Assay.
Interpretation
False positive results can be caused by infection with Penicilium, Alternaria and Paecilomyces. Patients with Histoplasmosis and other endemic myscoes may also cause false positives. Antifungal therapy may reduce the assays sensitivity.
Clinical Utility
This test is an aid in the early diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis and, along with other diagnostic tests and clinical signs of disease, allows for the effective early treatment of the disease.
