Transplant Monitoring Panel
Transplant Monitoring Panel, OKT-3, Flow Cytometry, Transplant Monitoring Panel, EPIC: LAB6412, SOFT: FOKTG
A Complete Blood Count and Differential (CBCD) must be ordered simultaneously to obtain the absolute lymphocyte count.
Specimen Collection Criteria
Collect: One Lavender-top EDTA tube for Transplant Monitoring Panel AND one Lavender-top EDTA tube for Complete Blood Count with Differential. (Minimum: 2.0 mL each tube.)
Tube should be labeled with the date of time of collection.
Physician Office/Drawsite Specimen Preparation
Maintain whole blood at room temperature (20-26°C or 68-78.8°F) prior to transport. Specimens must be received in the Laboratory within 48 hours of collection.

CD2: 660-2769 mill/L.
CD3: 581-2581 mill/L.
Immunophenotyping by Multiparameter Flow Cytometry.
This assay includes: absolute lymphocyte count, CD3 (absolute and %), and CD2 (absolute and %).
OKT3 is a murine monoclonal antibody directed against the CD3 antigen on lymphocytes that closely associates with the T-cell receptor for antigen. It is remarkably effective in reversing or preventing rejection episodes because it clears the circulation of CD3 positive cells and prevents allograft antigen recognition. Effective therapy with OKT3 can be verified by documenting CD3 antigen removal.
