Thyroglobulin by LC-MS/MS

This test is only available to Endocrinologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians for thyroglobuin antibody positive patients who are being treated or monitored for thyroid cancer.
Specimen Collection Criteria
Collect (preferred specimen): One Gold-top SST tube.
Also acceptable: One Dark Green-top Lithium or Sodium Heparin tube.
Physician Office/Drawsite Specimen Preparation
Centrifuge to separate serum or plasma from cells. Transfer serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube and refrigerate (2-8°C or 36-46°F).
Preparation for Courier Transport
Transport: 1.5 mL serum or plasma, refrigerated (2-8°C or 36-46°F). (Min: 0.7 mL)
- Specimens not collected and processed as indicated.
Specimen Stability for Testing:
Room Temperature (20-26°C or 68-78.8°F): 24 hours
Refrigerated (2-8°C or 36-46°F): 7 days
Frozen (-20°C/-4°F or below): 1 year

4 - 7 Years: 4.1-40.5 ng/mL.

High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).
The lower limit of detection for Thyroglobulin by LC-MS/MS is 0.5 ng/mL.
This test is recommended for quantifying thyroglobulin in thyroglobulin antibody positive patients who are being treated or monitored for thyroid cancer.
