Obstetric Screening

• Screening to determine the risk of open neural tube defect and Down's syndrome pregnancies are offered:
• First Trimester Down's Syndrome Screen
• Integrated Screen, Full or Serum
• Obstetric Triple Screen

• Sequential Screen

• Bilirubin in Amniotic Fluid
• Lamellar Body Count (LBC)
• L/S Ratio and PG
• Amniotic fluid testing for Alpha Fetoprotein (AFP) is also performed. Risk assessments are reviewed by a member of the professional staff.

• Hemoglobin A1c for diabetes monitoring.
• Chromatographic and electrophoretic separation of individual hemoglobins to detect hemoglobinopathies, e.g., sickle cell trait, beta thalassemia trait.
• Serum proteins to detect disease-related imbalances or presence of a monoclonal protein
