Clinical Pathology Laboratories

The Department of Clinical Pathology has pathologists and Ph.D.'s providing medical direction and technical supervision for the laboratory's large menu of tests. The laboratory is accredited by the American College of Pathologists (CAP), the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI). Our pathologists are board certified by the American Board of Pathology.

 

Automated Chemistry / Urinalysis

The Automated Chemistry Laboratory performs a broad range of tests, including routine chemistry panels, therapeutic drug monitoring*, endocrine assays*, anemia investigations, hepatitis testing, and urine/body fluid testing. Learn more.

The Blood Bank Laboratory provides blood and blood components for transfusions, prenatal serologic testing, therapeutic apheresis, therapeutic phlebotomy, autologous donation, and consultations. Learn more.

The Coagulation Laboratory offers a complete range of routine and specialized tests for comprehensive evaluation of patients with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders, thromboembolic complications, hypercoagulable states, and disorders of platelet function. Learn more.

Diagnostic Flow Cytometry

The Flow Cytometry Laboratory uses sensitive multiparametric flow cytometry methods to provide semi-quantitative analysis of blood, bone marrow, fresh tissue (e.g., lymph node) suspensions, and body fluids including CSF. Learn more.

The Clinical Microbiology Laboratory provides a full spectrum of tests (ranging from traditional culture to state-of–the-art molecular methods) for the detection of medically important bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses in clinical specimens and provides information about the susceptibility of bacterial agents to select antibiotics. Learn more.
